The Finding That Will Make You Defensive

Maleficent is #17. The Mistress of All Evil scores 51.8 out of 100. She cursed an infant over a party invitation she didn't receive. That's a 2/10 Crisis Management score and a 2/10 Emotional Intelligence score. Meanwhile, Hades — who runs a literal bureaucratic afterlife with impossible KPIs and a twelve-headed hydra for staff — scores 86.9 and is the most boardroom-ready villain Disney has ever produced. And Gaston scored 10/10 on Charisma and 2/10 on Strategic Vision. He is every LinkedIn influencer who has never read a P&L.

Methodology

Index: Disney Villain CEO Index • Items: 30 Disney and Pixar villains (1937–2024) • Scored: March 2026

Formula: CEO Score = (SV×0.25) + (RM×0.20) + (CP×0.15) + (CM×0.15) + (IA×0.12) + (EI×0.08) + (RI_adj×0.05)

All metrics scored 0–10 by qualitative rubric analysis of canonical film appearances. RI_adj (Ruthlessness, adjusted) = 10 − |raw_ruthlessness − 6| — optimal CEO ruthlessness is 6/10; extremes in either direction are penalized.

Data sources: Disney and Pixar animated films, analyzed in-context. No external data collection. Films available via Disney+.
